One afternoon in the year 1997, while Leong Hoon Leok, an acupuncture specialist is treating his patients in his clinic in Jln Tun H.S. Lee, Kuala Lumpur, a couple went to see him saying that their son has been in a coma for two and a half months in a hospital.

With a few medical equipment in hand, he followed the couple to the hospital. When he reached the room where the couple's son is. The young man was about 22 years old, bedridden and pale. Dr. Leong was told that he was hit by a bus while riding back home from work using his motorcycle by his mother and that they tried various types of method to cure him but to no avail.

After thinking for a while, he said yes but if there is no change in his condition after 10 times of treatment, he said that there was nothing that he can do.

The next day, Dr. Leong started treating the young man. He used all his expertise learnt from his father since he was 17 years old. Dr. Leong is the fourth generation in a family which practiced acupuncture in Malaysia but further investigations revealed that he was in fact the 24th generation if calculated since his ancestors from China.

Treatment of the young man continues everyday as his young man anxiously awaits.

After the 8th time of treatment, a miracle happens. The young man moves his fingers and a weak voice calling his sister was heard.

The incident happened 7 years ago. Now the young man can go about his daily activities as usual,” said Dr. Leong who now has 30 years of experience in the field of acupuncture.

As Dr. Leong explains, he said that acupuncture was 1st practiced in China about 5000 years ago. Back then, only pieces of rock were used unlike the needles of today.

About 2500 years later, only did they know about the merideins and certain formulas in a person and also that man and woman have different meridien points.

Man has 'yang' (positive) energy while woman has 'ying' energy (negative).So, the day and position of where the needles are being inserted are different.”he said.

According to Dr. Leong, acupuncture methods practiced by him are traditional.

Every patient is treated according to their gender and day. Everthing depends on the 'ying' energy of a patient.

Dr. Leong also tells of a patient of his who had Parkinson's disease about 10 years ago.

When she 1st started, the 55 year old lady was trembling all over. All movement were assisted by family members. She came to the clinic assisted by one of her son.”

However, after more than 3 months of daily acupuncture, she was recovering and at the end of the treatment, she can walk without any assistance.

A patient would usually be given some herbal medicine according to the type of disease they have after acupuncture.

According to his experiences, Dr. Leong has successfully cured various diseases such as rheumatism, strok, facial palsy, gastrik, asthma, migraine, backache, knee pain, glucoma and cerebral palsy (early stages), facial, slimming and beauty and other types of diseases.

Dr. Leong's patient's are from different races, places and status. There are even ambassadors which names cannot be mentioned here and also many foreign tourists from various countries.
